TEL AVIV, January 21, 2019 -- Taiwan Tourism Bureau (TTB) is returning to the International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM) on February 12-13, 2019 at the TLV Convention Center, as part of its continued effort to build up the fastest-growing Taiwan tourism market in the Middle East.

Right next to the TLV Convention Center’s main entrance at booth #109, Taiwan’s booth will surely be the talking point of IMTM. With its unique combination of materials, design, and activities, it’s sure to be the most photographed booth at the show. 95% of the booth is constructed out of eco-friendly recycled cardboard, while the focal point of the booth will be a large train modeled after Taiwan’s iconic Alishan Forest Railway that visitors can sit inside and have their photos taken. The train and other elements of the booth reflect Taiwan Tourism Bureau’s 2019 “Small Town Tourism” theme, which promotes dozens of Taiwan’s smaller towns and the activities that can be experienced at each.

The booth’s opening ceremony will begin at 11 am on February 12 with an Aboriginal Taiwanese dance performance. Following this, there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Tel Aviv’s Ambassador ל

Chang and First Secretary Yuping Su, Taiwan Tourism Bureau’s Israel Market Director Dr. Trust H. J. Lin, and Cathay Pacific Airway’s Israel Country Manager Jonathan Bailey.

Dr. Trust Lin and Jonathan Bailey will then have a symbolic gift exchange to celebrate the launch of a new partnership between Cathay Pacific Airways and the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, in which the two parties will cooperate on marketing campaigns to promote Israeli travel to Taiwan in 2019. From March 2019, Cathay Pacific will have daily flights to Taiwan via Hong Kong, making it not only one of the most comfortable ways to get to Taiwan from Tel Aviv, but also the most convenient.

Visitors to Taiwan’s booth can enter our lucky draw with prizes like Taiwan’s award-winning Kavalan whiskey, Taiwanese tea sets, and a return flight to Taiwan! While submitting your lucky draw entry, you can also write a postcard to a special someone with whom you would like to travel with to Taiwan. These postcards will be taken back to Taiwan and posted from there to that loved one, creating a nice surprise.

We’ll be announcing more partnerships, activities, and prizes on our Facebook page: facebook.com/Taiwan.org.il - So Like it, and also turn on “See First”, so that you do not miss any important announcements about other ways to win prizes.

Taiwan Tourism Bureau’s Director for the Israel market, Dr. Trust Lin, presented his thoughts on why Taiwan should be the next place for Israeli travelers to visit: “Taiwan has many small towns, with each featuring a unique and exciting twist on Taiwan you might experience in larger cities, so they are well worth visiting.”

The Taiwan Tourism Bureau (TTB) is the official government agency of Taiwan (R.O.C.)
responsible for domestic and international tourism policy development and execution. The Israel market is managed by the Singapore branch of TTB. The marketing slogans currently in use for Taiwan, are “Time for Taiwan” and “The Heart of Asia”, while the official mascot of the TTB is Oh Bear, a cartoon Formosan Black Bear, the national animal of Taiwan.
